Local Fence Work Across Lubbock County

Fence rules change as soon as you cross a city line. Inside Lubbock, the city's building code lets most fences up to 7 ft go in without a building permit, while zoning still controls corners and screening walls. Wolfforth handles permits through its own online portal and some of its neighborhoods require architectural review first. Shallowater, Idalou and Slaton each run permits through city hall, Ransom Canyon has a Building Review Committee, and unincorporated Lubbock County issues no building permits at all, which matters in fast-growing country around Woodrow and the Lubbock-Cooper schools.

Lots change too: alley-backed brick homes in Tech Terrace and Overton, HOA streets in Vintage Township and Kelsey Park, canyon lots at Ransom Canyon and Buffalo Springs, and farm-town acreage around Shallowater and Idalou. Each page below covers the permit office, neighborhood patterns and the fences that suit those lots. Don't see your area? We likely still serve it. Call (806) 630-1744 and ask.

The Same Weather Everywhere

What every area shares is the South Plains climate. Lubbock is the 10th-windiest city in the country, spring brings hail and dust storms, and the city's building code designs for 115 mph winds and a 12-inch frost depth. So whatever the local rules say, we build the same way everywhere we work: steel posts, deep concrete, heavier gate and corner posts, and open styles where a lot is exposed. Every estimate is free, wherever you live in our service area.
